Battlefield Mobius (STH RP)

"..." Aaron cracked open a Cirrus magazine, emptying some of the bullets.

Messilita watched Aaron do the helping. She was pretty clueless on using bullets. "And?"

Aaron emptied the contents of one of the bullets into his hand. "Getting gunpowder. It might help us start a fire out here."

"..." Az stood up, walking over to the two. "Give 'em." He snatched the sticks out of Messi's hands, then furiously began rubbing the sticks against one another as fast and as hard as he could.

The sticks jizzed sparks when it reached a state of heat. Didn't light a fire though.
"Whoa. That worked." Messilita made a comment,squatting down.

But then, the ash-covered sticks break twice as easily.

Az still had two halves to work with. He tried the same thing, this time managing to go even quicker...
"Wooh!" Az nearly burnt his hand as both sticks managed to catch fire. He kicked the other two halves on the ground together, then set both the sticks down to create a very minuscule fireplace. "Right, now we need a lot more wood. I'll cover it so that a breeze doesn't blow it out." He said, putting both of his hands round it. It was a tiny fireplace, but it was a start at least.

"I'll go out this time." Aaron volunteered, loading the rest of the bullets back in the magazine.

There was a piercing whistle of an artillery shell. Sounds like a mortar!

"..." Az looked around, ears pricked and his eyes scanning for anything. He scanned the skies, too.

"KLUNK" Woke up the blue headed fox named Lucia.

Messilita saw dirt fly out. Faintly though. "What the-..."

It was a mortar shell, the wet terrain from the rain didn't cause it to blow.

Aaron seemed on edge now... he loaded up his rifle again and cocked it.

Az was jumped by the shell.
"SHIT! Thank God it didn't blow up or that would've been all of us dead!" ... He was clearly grateful. Although now he didn't feel sleepy at all, the mortar really woke him up. But he wasn't going to just leave it alone. "Where the hell did that come from?"

"I'm not going to find out. ._." Messilita stepped deeper into the cave.

"W-... what's going on?" Lucia rubber her eyes and yawned.

"We almost got blown up, that's what." Az said, standing up straight and forgetting about the small fireplace. "I'm gonna go take a look at where that came from... anyone else?" He asked, now kind of used to having someone around.

"I'm up for it." Aaron agreed.

"Fine, I'll stay here and make sure the fireplace stays lit." Messilita sat beside the fireplace,doing nothing.

Lucia was completely clueless.... so she went back to sleep...

Following the trail, it seemed like it came from the mountain itself. Worse, it wasen't launched or anything, it just..fell.

"Alright... guess we're headed up the mountain." Az could only assume, judging by the trail. "Let's go." He walked round to a spot where it was easiest to ascend, then began the climb.

Aaron nodded, following Az up.

The mountain was kind of rocky, so friction isn't going to be a problem here. It's the rain of rocks following up.

Az made sure he didn't lose his footing, attempting to move each rock before using it for support in case it gave way.
"So what's your story?" Az asked... he was suspicious of Aaron, but part of him was telling him not to be worried at all.

"Well, I joined up with OmegaCorp back when I was 19 years old, been serving ever since." Aaron said. "Had a brother, name was Grant. Don't know what he's been doing now, though. We ended up in different branches of service."

"I remember hearing about someone in our residence who joined them... no idea what happened to him." Az said... he didn't have the best memory. "I haven't seen much of them since these two hordes of bastards came and waged war against each other."

"Yeah, well the Supreme Administrator's been more focused on trying to help civilians." Aaron explained. "The man's been pretty disorganized since his daughter up and disappeared on him before this war started."

"He has a daughter? What happened to her?" Az almost slipped on a rock, but regained his footing.

Messilita watched as a rock fell between her feet. She looked up...then at the fire.
...
it was dead.

"OH SHIT!!!!" Messilita forgot to keep the fire burning! To make matters worse, the sound waves triggered a rockslide.
