Paper Mario: The 8 Diamond Orbs

Xavier waited for Toadsworth and Ruby to wake up.

Ruby was the first of the two to wake up, and muttered some gibberish.

"Wut?" Xavier asked Ruby after she said the gibberish.

Ruby didn't bother to repeat. "Can I take this orb?"

Xavier puts the Orb behind his back. "Once Toadsworth wakes up, he'll say if you can or can't."

Ruby nodded and waited.

Toadsworth woke up a few moments later. "Dear heavens.... what happened....THE PRINCESS!!!!!" Toadsworth tried running again, but Xavier held him in place by the top of his head, even though Toadsworth was still moving his legs quickly.

Ruby waited, Holding the orb to prevent it from rolling away.

"TOADSWORTH!" Xavier yelled at him.

"I say, chum, what do you want? I'm in a large predicament here, the Mario Brothers and the Princess are missing!" Toadsworth said.

"I think we know where they are." Xavier said, pointing to the Orb.

Ruby just waited while eating a Mushroom.

(But, There is a catch, though. XD)

"Where did you get that Mushroom, Ruby?" Xavier interrupted Toadsworth.

Ruby looked down at the 'Mushroom'. "Uh........Outside."

Xavier facepalmed and waited to see if anything happened to Ruby.

Ruby looked down at it. "Wait a second, This isn't a Mushroom at all."

(What looks like a Mushroom, But isn't really one?)

"Um.......is it a Fire Flower?" Xavier had no Idea what she ate.

(No. Think about it. Polka Dots......)

Ruby shrugged. "It looked like a mushroom to me."

(A...TOAD???)

Xavier was silent. He still didn't know.

(Close. Divide it in half.)

Ruby thought for a bit.

(To, ta,ao, ad, od?)

Xavier was still quiet.

(NOT THE WORD. THE TOAD ITSELF. *headbrick*)

Ruby remained quiet for a bit. "Well, Toadsworth, I'm getting a bit bored."

(A Toad Head......ew......)

Xavier was turning white.

(Don't bother asking. See the resemblance?)

Ruby sat down.

"What is this?" Xavier pointed to the Orb.

"Hm....let me examine it." Toadsworth looked around the Orb.

Ruby stared into it.
