Battlefield Mobius (STH RP)

Jun slid out from cover as the latest batch of artillery subsided. His on-board CPU was already calculating time until the next salvo hit, as the mole broke into a sprint to make it to the next set of cover before impact. As he dashed, he opened up a radio channel, trying to tap into enemy communications so he could get a fix on where enemy positions are, to make his job of getting to the jamming location a bit easier.

The timer expired, and Jun leapt into cover, the chest-high walls that the artillery seemed to leave behind constantly. 'Funny,' he thought, 'you think that the artillery would have hit by now.' The mole peered out of his cover, taking note of the surrounding area. Then, deciding that the artillery had stopped for a moment, he began taking a light jog towards his waypoint marker, keeping to the right side of the street.

Messilita waited for the soldiers to leave... Lucia was having a hard time controlling herself though,shaking. She had her hand close to her pistol just in case.

Doraaz could hear some rather heavy footsteps approaching, the same went for the other end of the outpost. He didn't want to make a move but he really wanted to see what was coming. They were spreading out, treading as quietly and slowly as they could, making sure to shoot down anything that moved. Now the Mecha Panther's stomping from outside could be heard and felt, with the sounds of drop ships soaring over from above. Whatever they were bringing in was definitely not going to make escaping any easier.

Jun was going to have to be careful, there were several snipers around the area all with a very keen eye.

As far as the naked eye is concerned,there were some "Predator-style" stealth bots roaming around the city. Mainly scouts,they second as an assassin. Best used in high numbers. Their system is cooled to match the environment's temperature and visual LEDs to trick sight.

Messilita held her breath when she heard those soft footsteps with her big ears... She also tried not to blink often. Lucia started to whimper but she covered her mouth.

Doraaz could hear some footsteps going past his location. He very cautiously peeked his head over to see there were several vanguards and heavy assault troops lined up with each other, creeping further into the outpost. He just managed to stay out of sight as an extra wave of regular assault troops came past, one almost having spotted him.
"Be careful, a sniper's reported to have seen something that looks like it's been cloaked." The commander warned. A loud gunshot went off outside from a sniper, regardless of whether they were actually shooting an enemy or just an illusion.

A couple of rebels had come out of hiding in a nearby building and shot a couple of soldiers, but only one of them was properly killed as the other managed to shoot them both to bits. Several other units were drawn to the gunfire, coming over to search the building. They didn't know that nobody else was in there, but it left a gap for others to escape... if they could. A few pods crashed into the middle of the roads around the area that were of similar size to a light tank. They started to unfold and deploy, revealing turrets from underneath the outside hull.

"Found anything?" The commander had asked once the inside units had done a full check through.
"Nothing."
"Get everyone out. The place is gonna get bombed."

Doraaz heard as they all ran out at a relatively slow pace. They were clear inside. He stood up and looked round just in case, but they were definitely gone. He could some of them getting into the large APC as it closed up and drove off.

The cloaked bots were stalking the soldiers until every single one has a target. It will take a matter of minutes until they all have one.

Messilita saw the soldiers flock towards another location, she got up and pulled Lucia to her feet,sprinting to hide behind a set of walls across the street. Lucia followed shortly.

Tanks, APCs and other vehicles were now moving outwards and away from the outpost. Most of the soldiers were now getting into varied APCs and were being driven out of the city. The gunships had stayed whilst the interceptors were escorting the drop ships out of the city, yet the Mecha Panther was still roaming around, looking for enemies and innocents. It had seen a few citizens hiding in a flat, which it proceeded to ram itself into and claw away the walls. There wasn't any hope for them surviving.

Doraaz saw the two foxes from a while away. He ran toward them, assuming that they knew exactly what was coming in.

A red laser dot roamed around where Messilita and Lucia were, a slight electric hum when Doraaz passed by a stealth bot. Normal humans cannot hear the hum, mobians' enhanced hearing is an exception.

Many of the stealth bots open fired upon soldiers,killing them in one shot before running to recharge their cloaking devices. They were gray in colour and have circuits on their heads with a laser emmiter beside the eye.

Doraaz stopped once he heard the hum. He looked round to see what it might have been, also turning invisible just in case as he pulled out his pistol.

The soldiers that were killed were the only remaining ones apart from the snipers. Now, a bomber was flying over, going lower down so that it could drop it's load more on target. It too was accompanied by about 3 interceptors.

Meanwhile,the artillery station had their cannons lowered to 72.4 degrees at full power. It would aim further towards the SOUTH city where more DS vehicles were heading to. They fired and loud bangs were in the sky once more,about to rain acid hell to those in range of it's set location

Messilita swore she saw another mobian but since he went invisible,she poked her head back into cover.

The stealth bot's humming gave away it's exact location, right beside. The laser scanned around until it shone upon Doraaz's silhouette.

Doraaz fired several shots at it, also kicking it a few times just to make sure it would die.

Most of the tanks and APCs had been destroyed, the commander herself almost got hit too.
"Damn it! Find where that artillery fire is coming from!" Sure enough, the Mecha Panther stopped what it was doing and headed in one direction to find where the fire was coming from... which wasn't the right direction. The gunships had spread out to look, too.
Several bombs had been dropped over the outpost. It was a matter of seconds before they were actually going to impact.

Dark Jandroy's tactics have been tricky over the past few years. One of them was about to unfold.

A stealth generator which consists of two tanks, one of them holds a sacred item that powers the machinery. It copied the exact formation of the Artillery nest to an emmiter tank in the far side of the city. The tanks there were perfect hologram clones. It was placed in an open field.

The real ones however,had their guns on reloading and aimed towards that paticular spot where the fake nest is. They waited,cloaked and silent.

Messilita saw the artillery trails but was distracted by Doraaz's attack on the stealth bot. Lucia motioned for him to approach with a "Pssst!".

Doraaz turned his head to the sound. He saw Lucia, then sprinted over and hid with them.
"And here I thought everyone was ash." He said. "I think we will be too if we don't get out of here."

A couple of gunships saw the hologram, opening fire on them.

"Status report."
"There isn't anything of value around here."
"Understood. A titan's coming your way then, get all units out of the city."
"Roger."

Sure enough, there was a large experimental nuke launcher that was already close enough to be able to fire a nuke in the middle of the city. It was heavily guarded with some medium tanks, AA tanks, mobile artillery guns, mechs and a mobile shield generator protecting them all.

"Any ideas?" Messilita asked without looking at Doraaz. She frantically looked around for an escape route but those damned turrets keep getting in the way.

The hologram simulated hits and explosions, making the artillery tank sway a bit. On the A-Nest,the guns were almost ready to fire,some have been loaded with heavy flak shells that explode in mid-air.

"..." He fell silent, trying to think. "Do either of you have EMP grenades?"

Meanwhile, the other gunships were closing in on the location of the real artillery guns. They couldn't see them, however.

The Titan was setting up the nuke. It was going to take a while, but time was short for the foxes to escape the city unharmed.

"It's a prototype, I don't really think it works.." Lucia unhooked one and handed it out to Doraaz. She seems pretty trusting to other mobians. Messilita was kind of uncomfortable with people she doesn't know... "Just don't waste it.." She warned in an almost threatening tone.

The cloaked nest was armed and ready to fire,they just waited for more to flock into the hologram nest. The chaos emerald was beginning to deplete it's temporary,usable energy whilst it needs to recharge from it's renewing permanent energy signatures.

He pulled out the pin or whatever was needed to activate it, then stood up and looked for the nearest turret. He saw one that was pointed in the other direction, so he threw the grenade at it and hoped for the best. Once the grenade went off, the turret was defused as smoke escaped out of the tip of the three barrels.
"C'mon, let's get out of here quick!" He jumped out of cover and started running down the side of the road. There wasn't any other hostile units around, but gunships could possibly have still been lurking about.

The Mech Panther arrived at the location of the fake artillery guns. It unloaded missiles, lasers and chaingun bullets onto their positions and also threatened to charge into them.

Messilita and Lucia sprinted to follow, Lucia was slower.

The artillery nest unloaded everything they had towards the fake nest, acidic rounds,flak, high explosive as well as some 360-degree laser shooter rounds.

Doraaz sprinted down to the nearest car that looked like it would work. Without hesitating, he punched the glass window twice as it broke, then felt around for the lock on the inside of the door. He opened the door then went right for the driver's seat to start hijacking the vehicle.
"Keep a lookout!" He shouted from within the car, not wanting to get the vehicle or himself blown up.

All but the Panther were destroyed. It took some heavy damage but could still function properly enough. Once it realised that the artillery it had attacked was fake, it started running off and away from danger, bashing through a few buildings that got in it's way. The nuke was almost ready to be launched, anyway.

The stealth field was disrupted as the generator had depleted the Chaos Emerald's power. Just in time as a few Heavy Cargo Carryalls picked up the artillery tanks and the generators.

Messilita looked left and right, Lucia looked around as well,more towards the sky.
"Why are they..retreating?" She wondered to herself.

Doraaz wasn't doing well at hijacking the vehicle. The engine started up for a moment, but fell dead again immediately afterwards.
"If either of you two know how to hijack a car, now's the time." He said, getting out. He was anxious, impatient about the fact he wanted to be driving clear from danger by now.

Thirty seconds until launch.

Lucia stepped forward,getting in the vehicle and started to hotwire it.

Doraaz was twitchy as he surveyed the area carefully. He ducked behind the car as another loud sniper shot went off. It was another civilian that had wandered out too soon.
"Fuck!"

By now, every Doom Storm unit except the Mecha Panther and the turrets were out of the city.

"Got it!" Lucia slapped the compartment back in place after the car started up. Messilita went into the back seat.

Doraaz hopped into the passenger seat, expecting the purple fox to drive.
"Let's buckle up and get the hell outta here." He said, looking through the rear window in case anything had seen them.
