Battlefield Mobius (STH RP)

A large war has been raging on Mobius between two deadly factions for the past year. Already, millions of innocents have had their lives taken by both forces. The Chaos Emeralds, being the main reason why Mobius is under attack, remain scattered around the planet, but two have already been found and, unfortunately, have fallen into the hands of the two opposing armies. It wasn't long before rebels started to rise up against the war. They not only fought for freedom, but they wanted to keep the Chaos Emeralds out of hell's reach and, in particular, wanted to remove the demon spawn from the face of the earth.

Many familiar faces had their lives claimed. Sonic, Shadow, Amy... it felt like hope was gone for the rebels. But they weren't going to give up. Will they be able to fight off the villains? Or will they be destroyed and driven into the ground like the rest of the population?

A large city was currently under assault from Doom Storm forces. Caught in the middle was Doraaz, who wasn't exactly happy about it. Armoured troops with powerful rifles, tanks with enough firepower to bring down a castle and gunships armed to the teeth with weaponry searched around the entire town, hunting down anybody who got in their way... rebel or not. Doraaz was stuck in a flat, with troops coming in from downstairs.
He looked round the corner to see if anyone was there. As he saw a soldier sprint up the steps and spin round, he only just managed to get behind cover as five thundering shots threatened to rip his head into mush.
"Sweet mother of a bastard..." He mumbled under his breath. On his own, his chances of living were very low.

Meanwhile,in another zone...

Messilita and Lucia were helping out the evacuation of another city which was under siege by Dark Jandroy's forces, his ground units were slow but were shielded,heavily armed and most of them were powerful juggernaught-like tanks that roll over even an Abrams in seconds. It was pure luck they were far away for now.
"This truck is full,wait for the next." Lucia stopped a child from falling off the truck and handed him to a more stable platform on the truck. Messilita however, was on the front line. She started searching around with her binoculars and spotted a few armoured cars heading this way. She ordered a rebel to sound the alarm.

(I kind of meant for the city to be large enough so that on one side, Doom Storm were coming in and raiding shit, then on the other side was Dark Jandroy's army blowing up shit too until they both clashed. Gets the characters together more quicker rather than having them all in completely different locations.)

The SOUTH side of the city was already being blown to bits while the NORTH had massive evac zones. The city really has bad luck today.

Lucia watched the trucks with civilians go EAST and WEST, where they had a small chance of avoiding the destruction in the city. She picked up her radio and told Messilita to fall back, who was already taking heavy fire.
"Retreating!" Messilita responded,ordering the rebels to make a gun and run as they retreat down the line.
"We need support soon,or we're done for! Two fucking armies are gonna clash and it's gonna be one heck of a fight!" Messilita yelled as she ran,firing at the Scout cars chasing her.

(Good enough.)

Doraaz went invisible, holding his breath in hopes that he wouldn't* be found. He heard the door to the room get smashed down as one of the soldiers said something, but it was too broken up for him to hear. He could hear one slowly coming round, the footsteps getting closer and closer. He'd be a dead man if he made another movement, it was too quiet for any noise to not raise attention.
"... Hold up." One of the soldiers stopped. They all turned to him. All there was was just a deafening silence...
"The enemy's been located on the south side. All units have been told to regroup and engage. Let's move!" He kept his breath held as they all rushed out. He sighed in relief, revealing himself as he came out from the bathroom. As he looked out the window, he could see several large armoured trucks, APCs, tanks and gunships all heading off south to fight. His best bet was to get out of the building, it was probably going to collapse soon.

The dark sky above made it rain heavily. It would wash away the blood that will take place in this city, lighting flashed and thunder clapped. Our heroes cannot escape from the bloodbath about to take place...worse still,they are in the very middle.

Dark Jandroy's forces were levelling the city,robots of all kinds rushing in to attack. Air forces were faster and more agile but the sluggy ground troops had more firepower and armour to make up to it's speed. Tanks crushed trucks and walls down while troopers slaughtered rebels and civilians alike with their laser weaponary.

The CENTRAL part of the city is the only stronghold left for Messilita and Lucia,where they desperately held off a few of both armies. Messilita was in charge of perimeter defence while Lucia called for back up...again..and again..and again. No response. She was beginning to cry, tears flowing soon enough.

As Doraaz stepped outside, there was an eerie silence to the area that was only interrupted by the distant battles, but even that wasn't very loud. The people killed must have been shot in their own homes; the streets were clean of any blood. He didn't want to stay there... but he didn't want to leave his home city to burn.
"... You're gonna get yourself kiiiiilled...~" He whispered to himself as he started running towards the fight. He would rather be dead than live a coward anyway.

As for the battle, air superiority wasn't going to belong to Doom Storm for now, but they brought plenty of anti-air tanks to counter. Some of the heavy tanks already started opening fire having seen some of Dark Jandroy's own in the far off distance down the street. The gunships were close enough and also opened fire, the AA specialist gunships focusing on the enemy aircraft. Mechs were trailing closely behind the tanks to protect the APCs and armoured trucks.

In retaliation,some tanks deployed down to double shield strength and acted as stationary shielded barriers. Droids rushed towards the CENTRAL streets to gain control and have the early advantage in battle. The air units were broken ember,falling. Dark Jandroy's forces didn't have any dedicated weapons in the field yet, most units were fitted to all-rounded stats [lol stats]. They fired at the enemy from the buildings if they spot them.

[That frikken Aeon AA gunship was a total pain in the ass to kill. Worse if in large groups!]

In the distance,outside the city... Slow,6-barrelled artillery tanks were rolling through the plains to provide support, they had some escort and 4-legged mechs as heavy infantry.

No special news from Messilita or Lucia,they kept their heads low.

(Try the Seraphim T4 Bomber. Any AA defences get demolished either way... and so begins the first war of the RP. Which I don't want to be too big in case we make the rest of the RP feel so bland in comparison.)

The tanks came to a halt once they got close enough, soaking up plenty of damage but some eventually were destroyed. Mechs soldiered on to get closer, APCs and armoured trucks stopped as a variety of different soldier types appeared. Most of them got behind these particularly large and heavily armoured guys with large reinforced riot shields. There were some large soldiers with similar armour, armed with high-powered gatling guns that could tear through weak armour, but they kept behind cover. Snipers were being set up within buildings and as for support, there was some on the way which would arrive shortly.

Doraaz pressed on. He could see through the wall of rain that blocked his line of sight at the gunfire and the explosions. He didn't see the spy plane that soared almost at cloud height over the city, but then again it was almost impossible to notice.

Droids were being picked off by snipers and tanks' shields were failing due to the Gatling guns pounding at them and being finished off with tank rounds. Lasers and bullets were flying everywhere that one almost hit Messilita's head, she rushed back to safe cover..pinned down.

The artillery tanks deployed and set their targets further down the city,aiming at the bulk of Doom Storm's units. It will take a while before they fire in one go.

Air support arrived in time, it was a number of fighter-bombers armed with 2 autocannons on each wing, squadrons of 9 and in X formation. 3 squadrons. They swooped downward,ready to fire in moments.

(Well, shit. Guess it's time I busted out the Reploids. ...And Aaron. And Monica.)

Doraaz picked up his pace, hoping to get to the centre of the city before he was blown to bits. He tried staying invisible, but even in motion it didn't make a significant difference. Avoiding a few shots that whizzed about two feet over his head, he could see a vehicle go driving off west and out of danger. He definitely knew now that there were some rebels in the middle... getting to them would be a challenge.

The AA tanks weren't going to let the bombers down easy as they opened fire. The tanks held their positions, falling in numbers gradually, as some soldiers broke away from their formations to flank. The APCs and armoured trucks weapons weren't very powerful. In terms of support, a commander had arrived with some extra units. Three more armoured trucks had come in with a wave of lighter, more agile tanks and now there were a few interceptors. The interceptors were agile, but weren't too fast nor did they possess a lot of firepower... basically just distractors that could bite.

After the bombers unloaded a few bombs... most of them exploded with the bombs still inside them. They fell to the city in random locations,blowing up in flames. Many of Dark Jandroy's tanks were also being depleted, the shields failing and turrets destroyed.

Droids were kind of sneaky as they hid in piles of their own wrecked comrades,firing away. They did not advance as the sound of thundering artillery in the distance meant one thing.

"RAIN!! RAIN!!" Messilita heard the shells whizz in the air before they broke the short silence with loud explosions. These rounds were fitted with acid that spreads all around,hitting the nearby locations pin-pointed by droids, mostly AA tanks and clusters of troops.

A few remaining scouting trucks were having a road rage through streets,shooting auto-lasers as they drive past positions. Lightly armoured but fast, they are hard to hit and hit soft targets multiple times where it hurts.

Messilita's cover continued to drain until there was almost no place to hide her body completely, she went into prone in hopes not to get noticed. Lucia did the same.

Doraaz heard the artillery shells coming in, destroying the area he was in. He had to stay under cover or move quick, but he was making progress towards the central outpost.
"Can't these assholes fucking leave us alone?!" He cursed.

The AA defences were almost fully depleted from that salvo, but the interceptors continued to fight as a couple went down, the vanguards (the big riot shield soliders) started advancing, soaking up a lot of damage. Many of the soldiers were taken out that weren't covered and a few light tanks were blown up. The commander hadn't shown it's face yet, but whether it was going to or not remained unclear. Finally, some more powerful and faster fighter jets joined in with the interceptors to fight for air supremacy. The wave of light tanks and anti-infantry tanks continued to press forward, shooting anything hostile.

The remaining fighter bombers have been eliminated, so have the droids and a few tanks remain. The artillery positions started reloading, it will take a long time though.

The attack on the city has failed for Dark Jandroy. That will not be his last...

Messilita spotted a group of anti-infantry tanks... She kept low, hoping they would not spot her.

A few pebbles bounced off Jun's helmet, signs that the artillery above wasn't relenting. It was only by setting up an ECM station in the building above him that the incoming forces hadn't detected the excessive amounts of electronics in the basement below. The reminder of what would happen if that jammer went down rested in a pile of blood and gore in the stairwell.

The mole shook his head, clearing his head of thoughts, trying to focus on getting all his work out of the terminal he sat at, so that it couldn't fall into either armies' hands. While the files downloaded to an off-site location, he pulled up a map of the city, looking over it for a good place to set up another jammer, to try and slow the forces even more, as well as a new place to continue his work.

Another explosion, another shower of pebbles. Jun silently cursed his luck, for getting stuck in a city that was right in the middle of not one, but two oncoming armies. Alright, transfer was complete, and he identified a suitable location for the jammer. He downloaded the route onto his suit's on-board computer, took a few steps from his terminal, aimed his left SMG, the armor-piercing one, and let out a short burst into the terminal, shredding the electronics inside.

His work being done, the mole took a light jog into the building above, SMGs at the ready, as he began making his trek to his first waypoint, the center of the city.

Doraaz had managed to get into the outpost, only just managing to avoid getting shot by a sniper that had seen him. He sprinted inwards to avoid the APC that had tried chasing him down, but that was blown up shortly afterwards.
"Hey! Hey!" He yelled, trying to locate and talk to someone that wasn't dead. As for the nearby AA tanks, they were spreading out to set up a perimeter around the area away from the central outpost, accompanied by assault troops and a couple of engineers.

Doom Storm's assault wasn't over. A deafening shot came from further south of the city targeted at one of the tanks. The shot was so quick that all there was was a large gust of wind throwing litter around, finished off with a loud explosion on the exact location. All of the air units now focused their firepower on the remaining enemy ground units and, now, a Mecha Panther was approaching. (If you do remember them, they aren't as powerful as they used to be for various reasons.)

"Enemy numbers are thin and decreasing, we won't need any more support. There's been some signs of life further within the city, supposedly a rebel outpost."
"Flank, suppress and capture them, kill any fighters. If they keep the fight up and we lose too many soldiers, pull everyone out and bomb the outpost."

Soon,the entire force Dark Jandroy had was eliminated... He lost.

But for Messilita and Lucia,it is a fight for survival if they get spotted. Messilita responded to Doraaz's call with a "Shush!! keep quiet,they'll hear us!"

"...?" Doraaz looked around, suddenly realising the battle had gone quiet. He walked further ahead, trying to keep as quiet as possible until he found a safe hiding place.

Outside, the remaining troops searched buildings within the set perimeter for any rebels or civilians. The light tanks were starting to close in, with gunships and interceptors spreading out and searching the city for any potential threats or survivors. The commander was also approaching, being able to see the heat signatures... at least until her sensors and whatnot began to break up.
"Shit..." She could still communicate with the other units, just with a more static tone.
"Okay, I want any remaining vanguards, assault and heavy assault troops to block off all exits if you can. Snipers, keep hunting for any external threats. Drop ships are coming in, so I don't want to see them getting shot out of the sky."
