This is 'officially' the place where I put the Auora family part of characters.
Alexander Alan Auora, 16, Son of Theodore & Celina Auora
Sicila 'Sis' Ann Auora, 16, Daughter of Theodore & Celina Auora
Alex & Sis were born within a minute of each other, officially making them twins. Alex always was mischievous and playful, leading to prank wars between himself and Sicila, but as he aged, as did his intelligence and maturity. Sis was always the most mature of the two, more than occasionally pulling Alex out of the metaphorical and literal hole he dug himself into. Alex grew into his parent's love for treasure hunting and respect's his family more than anything else, Sis grew up surrounded by books, she would be seen reading one at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and usually be caught reading one late at night by flashlight, her love of books also pulled her into alchemy and medical work. The family lived in the Auora Estate, cosily nestled in the hills and trees of Redwood County.
Disaster struck the family on Alex and Sicila's 12th birthday, on a walk home from a superb party that was ended early by a thunder storm, when a bolt of lightning struck a nearby tree, consuming most of the woods in flame and separating parents from their children. Both Alex and Sis searched for months before giving in, their parent's were officially declared deceased six months after the indecent.
Three months after, Alex was poking around he parent's room when he came across a dusty notebook on the nightstand. Curiously he opened it up and found a note.
To Alex and Sis,
This notebook has been passed down from generation to generation in the Auora family, usually to the oldest son, as it is rare that twins are born in the family.
You both know about our charms, the purple ones we gave you today. These charms hold a special power, a power you were both destined to wield, use them for treasure or to better the world around you. Use them for yourself or for others, it is your choice, we believe you both will make the right choice.
Practice with these charms, and when you come of age, we'll send you off to grow your own fortune.
Happy twelfth,
Mom and Dad.
Alex was astounded, his parent's old purple charms had some sort of awesome power that both he and Sis had control of. They both spent the next year training and honing their abilities. After the age of thirteen they decided to head out on their first treasure hunt, which ended in a rousing success, thus increasing their want for more. Success after success after success carried on for another year, and with their collection of tales grew their own fortune, although, it wasn't the riches that filled the void that was their parents, instead they took care of each other, both at home and in their adventures. Plus, they grew ever closer to each other.
Alex's fighting style usually revolves around dodging and evading, generally toying, and wearing down and opponent until the moment to strike comes, all while keeping a rhythm. With groups, Alex is still a challenge, but the moment his rhythm is broken, he might as well kiss his tail goodbye. Alex's main element is a mix of Dark and Fire, along with Electric as a sub element, making him a nightmare for anything slow moving. Alex's main weapon is a bladed quarterstaff that he can use as a magic bow, hidden inside are two rapiers which he uses in a pinch, although he should never be underestimated in unarmed combat, with or without magics.
Sis is more of a by the book fighter than Alex, although she likes to chain combos together, so she styled her combat to be smooth and flexible, although this leaves her open to attacks between her own. She usually uses two Kukries in a fight, but her mother's cutlass was gotten her out of plenty a tough fight, and like Alex, she is skilled in unarmed combat, although she is easier to fight without magic. Her main element is Water, fitting for her style, with her sub element being Earth.
Riley 'Lilly' Auora, 14, daughter of Alexander & Annie Auora
Mako Hunter Auora, 14 sonof Alexander & Annie Auora
-Insert picture here-
Riley & Mako are like their father & aunt, polar opposits. Where Riley wants to find a peaceful soution though something, Mako usually wants to juat break something to solve his problems. Also like the siblings before them, both Riley & Mako have learned to use their differences to work together, although their combat skills still leave them vulnerable in a heated situation, they can still pull out of jam if they need to.
Riley is a kind, gentle, and sweet young girl, and she's not one to hide it. Extremly outgoing, Riley's the first to start making friendly conversation with anyone. She enjoys flowers and other plantlife, as seen by the rare lotus she keeps behind her ear at all times. Although this flower smells sweet, every rose has it's thorns. Riley may be able to keep her head in a mess like her father, but when you snap her last nerve or threaten her brother, she'll lash out. Literally. Riley uses the lotus flower behind her ear as a whip-like weapon, but there's always room for improvision.
At first glance, Mako seems like a laid-back surfer kid who hasn't a care in the world, which is true, but underneith is the short temper of his Aunt Sicila, and Mako has the arm strength to back up his rage. As stated above, Mako likes being in the water, weither he's surfing, swimming, or drifting about on his back, it's near-impossible to get keep this kid dry. Mako heavily relies on the weather around him in a fight, and it is adivsed to not mess with him on a stormy day, unless you like bleeding. He doesn't seem to have a set weapon of choice, although he does like punching things, even though he will grab the nearest blunt object and smash something, or someone, with it.
=Friends=
Ann-Marie 'Annie' Goldstone Duster, 32nd Daughter to Marson & Jullie Duster
Alex and Annie meet each other when Alex rescued Annie from a back-alley mugging, and that night was love at first sight, and the days after helped that love blossom into the kind of relationship where both are almost always found together. Annie may look like a delicate rabbit, but she can swing to the fences, on the other side of the planet, she doesn't carry a 'real' weapon and tends to hold her own against danger with her grandmother's old parasol. Annie's grandparents were skilled mediums and she inherited some of their skills.
Annie was born into a family that was high up there among the list of the filthy rich, and her parent's spoiled her to no end in her early age, but as she hit her teens, she grew a sense of independence and tried to leave the house early, much to her father's disapproval. For a time, she jumped from small job to job, usually taking cafe waitress jobs, then she meet Alex. At first she just thought he was cute and charming, but as they started to get to know each other, both Alex & Annie realized they shared the same love for each other and they set their future together.
- Spoiler:
Annie's inherited psychic abilities are still not all to strong, but strong enough to keep her safe in a fight. She uses telekinesis on the environment around her, a technic taught by Alex, plus on her usual weapon, her parasol, to receive the needed power to knock down big opponents. She's also and early bloomer in mind and palm reading, giving her an advantage in both combat and everyday life.
Wendal 'Wrench' Caramore Posper, 3th son of Jim & Seal Posper
Wendal, more commonly referred to as Wrench, met the twins when they were looking for a plane ride through a supposed cursed storm and only one cat was crazy enough to take the job, during that adventure, the twins grew fond of Wrench's quirks and humor and decided to make him their regular pilot, and soon after, Alex's best friend. Wrench is a skilled mechanic and pilot, and he shows these skills in his own hydroplane dubbed The Sea Swan, he is lacking in the muscle department, but when worse comes to worse, he can stand up to a threat. He always carries around a pocket multi-tool, a swiss army knife of his own creation.
Wrench's family wasn't the richest, but not the poorest either, still close though. He always wanted what was best for his family and when his older sister, Jessie, took up adventuring, he decided to go out and bring some money to his family. he found work at a garage where his mechanical skills shined and where he earned the nickname Wrench from his boss, who called him that because Wrench seemed to fix every problem with no more than a wrench.
Both Wrench and Annie more than regularly accompany Alex and Sis on their escapades, despite the known perils.
=Rivals=
Marcus, Family Unknown, suspected orphan.
Jessie Denli Posper, 2nd daughter of Jim & Seel Posper.
Not much is known about Marcus, other than he's 17, about 15 months older than the twins, he's skilled in knife based combat, and he has a short temper. Marcus' knife is like it's owner. Of a mysterious origin and filled with surprises, the more commonly known being as it 'boomerangs' back to it's owner when thrown, and enchanted to never cut it's owner.
Jessie is Wrench's older sister and doesn't have his mechanical expertise, yet has a near super-genius IQ. She's in favor of unarmed fighting, using several styles of martial arts to confuse her opponents and to keep a fight interesting. During on of her and Marcus' expeditions, she found two rune rings, one infused with lighting energy, one infused with fire energy. She uses both of these rings in any non-friendly fight.
Jessie and Marcus joined up as partners in cri... I mean, treasure, after they saved each other during an archeological dig accident. Their relationship still seems to stand at partnership, but one can't help but feel a bit of chemistry between the two cats.
The twins ran into Jessie & Marcus during a hunt for a lost treasure, where both had the same knowledge of the treasure, turning the hunt into a race and ending with a fight, after several more fateful encounters, the twins and the cats rivalry grew. Alex and Marcus try to best one another almost every time they meet, but both have grown to respect the other as a rival. Sis and Jessie grew more as friends than rivals, but that doesn't stop them from having a sparing match once in a while.
Justin Caldio Loonil, 2nd son in the Loonil family
When Annie was still in the lap of luxury, her best friend was Justin Loonil, her parents and Justin's parents thought that their children would soon fall in love, and they were right... Well, half-right. Justin was crushing on her ever since they day they met, so when his parent's encouraged him start dating her, he was more than happy to oblige. Annie, however, didn't sit well with it, she soon learned that her best friend was more arrogant and harsh when they were dating. After Annie left home, Justin, the lovestruck puppy he was, went out after her. As soon as he met Alex and found out that he was going out with his childhood love, he straight out attacked Alex, who knocked him out cold into an outdoor restaurant dinning area, his relationship with Annie went downhill from there. Justin uses a family heirloom cane in a fight and tends to be alone most of the time, he doesn't has an interest in treasure or killing Alex, he just thinks that beating Annie's new love would bring her back to him.
=Enemies=
Quell A. Ballquti, family unknown
Quell was always notorious for being one of, if not the, evilest treasure hunter out there, and he holds that title with pride, egotistical and sickening pride.
Quell and Alex first met on one of the Auora's first treasure hunts, where he proved his prowess with his scimitars and speared Alex through the chest and the end of a dual, the resulting blood loss nearly bringing Alex to death. During their second encounter, Quell's ego brought him a humiliating loss by Alex's staff, infuriating Quell. Both he and Alex have been bitter enemies ever since. Quell tends to hit on Sis, only for the purpose of enraging Alex. Quell is proficient in his two scimitars, though it's questionable whether or not he acquired them legally. He doesn't understand Alex's tactics, if he has any, but the single thing that confuses him the most is the fact that Alex hasn't killed him, even with their enemy-ship-ness...
