An Appeal to Reason

First off, I've been planning this thread all day. The 'wildcard' thread is not related to this at all.

Anyways, onto my main point of posting this. I've noticed more and more recently that we've been crawling into our separate corners, making plotlines that have little, if nothing, in common, even with what this site was founded for, which was Sonic based RPs. I find us each either A:Relying nearly entirely on video games for basis, or B:Throwing away everything, and coming up with a whole new universe, which is very hard to keep a check on.

Instead, what I propose is that we find a way to 'meet in the middle', creating a universe that we can all forum RP in, without pushing others away.

Post your thoughts on this below, and, if this gets enough support, this will get turned into the starting point for that 'middleverse'.

I dont want this to turn into another themed site... there are too many as is...

As for that ' wildcard'... It can agree to disagree. I know you dont want to hear about that, but it looks like this cannot be resolved.

Some only want scifi, as I hear... a few only want sonic... of which would ruin the potential of here.... and they all seem bored at whatever decision we make in the first place.

So... my voice is this... If we cannot resolve this issue, we should accept the 'wildcard' proposal even if we hate it. Thats the purpose of it. A way to help decide a good rp in a way that makes them earn it.

As for making this an rpg... I am on the side that wants spacefaring... not exactly starwars... but simply a spacefaring rpg in the first place. You saw and joined that side, and there are at least 3 others that seem to support it. The others... are all disparate and going their own way, so my vote is on... the spacefaring verison.

Everyone wants sonic. I created it for this reason. Its just that we dont have good enough plots.

.. your right, we need to go with the plots most go with. But if this becomes a sonic... then you lost me.

Either way, if we cannot agree, the only way is the wildcard version. It can accomodate ALL versions of plots in an effective way via earning. But on that... I will not say anything more.... unless we dont resolve this.

I stated my vote. Scifi or bust. Preferrably spacefarer. Enough said.

... hmm, the people seem to indicate that we could go with a planet or city based scifi... of which would be rather creative. Perhaps a city with a few different kinds of beings...

Plan 1: Cybertropolis

It would be based on several groups of beings. The normal humans, the mutants, the robots, and the cybernetic forces. Each would have their own special advantages. In this 'city' rpg idea, these would be divided by those who want to reform a government, those who want to keep it free, and those who just want to survive.. perhaps. Basicly a hightech city that has gone rampant over time...

Dvp, I get what you are trying to do, but first, we need more support. Lack of consent from others has been the cause of many arguments.

Malgus, it is nice to see that you are working with somebody on something, several steps ahead of your previous style, making everything having something to do with your characters. But, I digress.....

Anyways, it is nice to see people come together like the big dysfunctional family we are.

I agree with said situation. So, what kind should we have? Present time? Medieval? Sci-fi?

I was giving a handful of examples. We Can have Apocalyptic, too, as another example. Its our choice.

The thing is, we haven't really attempted a medieval RP at all. We've done everything else that you had suggested at least once.

Quit whining about how many. It doesnt matter. Yes, I know its quality over quantity, but I am ambitious and a multitasker.


If this doesnt resolve and we cannot come to an agreement we all can accept within a week... (this being day 3)... I see no choice but to force us to accept that wildcard idea... which would encompass all disputes.
